About BellyFull

Growing my family helped me find my passion.

I blame this little guy (my now teenaged second child) and his older sister for sparking my birthwork career. In-depth education and support were vital to my experience, and I knew I could take my background in education and use it to help future families as they grow. I first certified as a Bradley Method educator, and my first childbirth education classes were held in 2012. I have since recertified as a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, and hold group and private classes in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area.

I added a DONA doula training to my reperatoire, and have been attending births since 2015. I have supported over 30 families as a doula, and am comfortable working in hospital, birth center, or homebirth environments. I believe every birth deserves doula support, and have a particular passion for supporting the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities.

About Sara

Personality matters in birthwork

Birth is so personal, you need to be sure your team feels right to you. So, it only makes sense that you want to know your doula pretty well before the big day!

I have lived in Pittsburgh for over 25 years, but still sometimes slip into my native Southern Californian speech patterns. I’ve been married to my wife for over 20 years, and we have two teens who keep me on my toes. We live in a multi-family home full of community, love, and chaos. Oh, and two rescue dogs who are absolutely in charge.

I happily self-identfy as a nerd. You can often find me playing tabletop games, reading, or learning something new. I have ADHD, so I spend a lot of time learning how my brain works, which helps me understand my fellow neurodivergent folks and their needs within the birth space.

If I am not doing birthy or nerdy things, you can probably find me running with City of Bridges Run Club. I love getting outside and moving my body and exploring our city and parks. I’m a proud back-of-the-pack runner, and I use doula tricks to get myself through long runs happy and whole.
